Hōseki

O Hōseki é um restaurante de viagens culinárias — oferecendo à la carte para aqueles que desejam personalizar a sua experiência gastronómica, e Omakase para aqueles que preferem deixar tudo nas mãos do chef. Omakase é um conceito tradicional japonês que significa “deixo ao seu critério”. Ao pedir Omakase no Hōseki, os clientes embarcam numa viagem através de um menu criteriosamente composto, apresentando uma seleção refinada de pratos elegantes e sazonais.

 

Our Japanese restaurant, Hōseki, was awarded its first Eat Out Star at the prestigious 2025 Eat Out Awards. This recognition, just one year after opening, is a significant milestone for us and a celebration of the dedication and artistry of our culinary team. We are proud to stand among South Africa’s most exceptional dining destinations. This season in addition to an extensive à la carte menu, diners can choose a five-course set menu for lunch or a six-course set menu for dinner, with an optional wine pairing.

 

Hōseki continues to innovate and break the traditional interpretation of sushi, Japanese cuisine, Estate-to-plate dining and sustainability. Recently added to the existing cutting-edge kitchen tech is a dry-ager for our sustainably sourced fish. A new item on the latest set menu presents a showstopper course, Jukusei Sashimi. The Jukusei Sashimi, which translates to ‘aged sashimi’, offers guests five variations of aged fish, delivering a harmonious umami-rich flavour profile and enhanced textures.

 

The new set menu also features a decadent dessert named ‘Black Pearl’, a fusion of flavours crafted to delight the senses, inspired by beautiful black pearls, which are associated with rarity, mystery and luxury in Japanese culture.

We invite you to visit Hōseki and experience a new Chef’s Signature Omakase set menu. Five exquisitely crafted courses are available for lunch, or six courses for dinner, accompanied by an optional beverage pairing expertly curated by the restaurant’s sommelier Duane Jansen.

 

Created by Head Chef Virgil Kahn and his talented team, Omakase is a time-honoured Japanese philosophy that embraces a respect for nature through intentional preparation and presentation.

 

Tuna is ethically sourced, rice is polished up to 12 times, kelp is foraged from local waters and vegetables and herbs are hand-picked each morning from the Estate’s bountiful on-site garden and greenhouse.

 

Hōseki is open daily:
Lunch 12:00 pm – 16:00 pm (last seating at 14:00 pm)
Dinner 18:00 pm – 23:00 pm (last seating at 20:00 pm)
